Madd and Muqat,aat Letters

Muqat,aat Letters (Disjoined or Disconnected Letters)
- These letters usually come in the beginning of some Quranic surah and will have to read separately and has to be recited as they are written.
- If Madda Letter followed by sakoon Letter in Muqattiat Letters,then it will be stretched up to 3 Alif and it is called Madd Lazim Harfi Mukhaffaf,as we have Laam Meem where Meem sakin comes after. Example: المّ in ميم
- If Madda Letter followed by shadda Letter while pronouncing Muqattiat Letters,then it will be prolonged up to 3 Alif and it is called Madd Lazim Harfi Muthaqqal,as we have Meem sound in Alif Laam Meem.Example: المّ in لامميم
- The Madd in the letter عين of كهيعصis called Madd Lazim Leen.
