There are three following Long Vowels (Maddah Letters) in Arabic Language.

• If Alif comes after Fatha (ـَـ) it is called Alif Maddah. For Example: بَا، تَا.
• If Wavo sakina comes after Dhamma (ـُـ), it is called Waao Maddah. For Example: بُو، تُو
• If Yaa sakina comes after Kasra (ـِـ), it is called Yaa-e-Maddah. For Example: إى، دِى
• Long vowel will be stretched for one Alif.
• If Maddah letter appears in the end of word then the duration of Madd will be equivalent to three or four Alif, while stopping on the last letter. For Example سَمِيْعٌ will be سَمِيْعْ and بَصِيْرٌ as بَصِيْرْ.
